Libby Kay has been "broadcasting" as far back as she can remember; as a kid playing radio with her keyboard, microphone and AM/FM tape player. Then, as a teenager, at her first job taking orders at the McDonald's drive-thru! Educated at Millersville University, in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country (think horse-drawn buggies), Libby anchored news on their closed-circuit TV station, then interned at the local classic hits radio station which led directly into her first paid position reporting traffic for one TV station and upwards of 12 radio stations across Central Pennsylvania.Radio traffic reporting is the perfect blend of fact-based journalism that Libby loves with a healthy dollop of lighter, day-to-day conversations. But driving (a.k.a. white-knuckling it) through ice & snow -just to tell everyone else to stay home- soon lost its luster so, in 2006, she packed up her cat, bird & then-boyfriend to try her luck on hurricanes. Thanks to the welcoming arms of the Magic 102.7 family, South Florida quickly became home. The weather, people, food and, of course, traffic keep Libby stimulated. Which is good because she’s an active woman; running or yoga fill most of her midday breaks. But so does cleaning because isn’t that what clean freaks do? Weekends are made for SLEEPING-IN, gardening, seashell hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors - South Florida’s year round sunshine and endless parks are perfect for this nature girl.Crafting and baking are Libby’s latest interests - using the shells she has found on our South Florida beaches for two, huge wind chimes and sharing her authentic Philly soft-pretzels with anyone who isn't afraid of a little gluten.... She makes a mean horseradish mustard too!Where did you grow up?Less than 10 miles from the Gettysburg battlefieldsFavorite song/group from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s:80's Song: Walk of Life, Dire StraitsGroup/Artist: Dire Straits, Elton JohnPets? The sweetest, baby-faced long-haired cat & a pearl cockatiel...We lost the bird for 4 days but found him THROUGH MAGIC 102.7 LISTENERS- an unbelievable story! What is something that you are really proud of and why?Buying our first home in 2012 because we lived in a tiny, one-bedroom apartment in Hollywood for 5 long years to make our dream a reality.
